University of Phoenix

One of my lesser known talents is paper engineering — basically, building things out of paper, whether it be pop-up cards or props. University of Phoenix wanted to get across the idea that their online school was the right choice for busy people. Artist Matthew Hollister illustrated a scene in which a very busy father juggles work, school, and family with his extra arms. I reinterpreted Matthew's artwork into a dimensional paper scene, which was photographed and pitched to UoP as the art direction for a 3D-animated ad with a handcrafted, stop-motion look. The paper models were suspended using armature wires, which were later edited out.
