Snapchat Yellow - Launchpad

This the second ad that promotes Snapchat's seed accelerator, Yellow, which provides resources, funding, and mentorship for content creators who are accepted into the program. One of the initial challenges of this ad was that there was no pre-existing content or imagery to work with since Yellow was entirely new at the time. Prior to the "Accelerator" direction of this ad being approved (see "Snapchat Yellow - Accelerator" under Animation), the initial concept was "Launchpad." Given a voiceover track and some general guidelines about featuring a rocketship, I developed the style/storyboard and illustrations for this piece, as well as animated it. The rocket became a narrative device that lead the viewer through what the Yellow program is and what its benefits are. Non-concrete concepts like "viewership," "funding," and "networking" were translated into symbolic patterns that create the different settings for the rockets journey.
